Scientific divisions The college started with the bachelor in nursing program; however, in the new future the college will have other specialized programs. General Goals of the Bachelor Program Receiving a bachelor in nursing depends on studying scientific and humanitarian courses that provide the basics for continuous development in education, on a personal level, and professionally. The curriculum reflects nursing services needs in the Saudi community, and the modern changes in the role of the nurse in the field of healthcare. It focuses on the important thoughts that make up the well rounded nurse. The program is designed in a way that assists the student through her four years of studying and provides her with the opportunity to gain personal independence, and the skills of critical thinking in various aspects of work. In first year, the curriculum is general and provides the basics that prepare the student for the more specifics courses. In second year, the student is exposed to the fundamentals of nursing, as well as supportive medical courses and courses that have a direct relationship to the profession. In third year, the curriculum concentrates on nursing courses in its different fields, plus, the courses that allow the student to perform her role as a health educator. Finally, in fourth year, the curriculum concentrates on preparing the student as a nurse. In addition to the four years of studying, and to provide more clinical training, there is an internship year the student has to complete upon graduation.
